I know this blog has languished for an insanely long time. I was using it more as an online journal, and it got exactly the same kind of treatment. Years of neglect. I've even started three other blogs in the meantime - mostly about teaching or reading. But I never completely wrote this one off.
Then, after having it for years, I figured out one horrible, mortifying truth.
I misspelled the name of the blog.
*facepalm*
The word I used, that I spent a week looking through thesauruses (thesauri?) and dictionaries to find, is supposed to be "farrago."
far·ra·go [fuh-rah-goh, -rey-]
noun, plural far·ra·goes.
a confused mixture; hodgepodge; medley: a farrago of doubts, fears, hopes, and wishes.
Origin:
1625–35; (Latin: literally, mixed crop of feed grains)

So if you are reading this, let me just say that I did, finally, clue in. I'm going to keep the blog (the actual "farrago" is now taken, of course). Mostly because I need a place for my next blogging project that is quiet and hopefully mostly private. If you are reading, please find some way to let me know (comment, email, private message). The idea is to keep this mostly just between friends.
Now, I'm going to follow my friend Stacy into a pair of adventures. First, I'm following her lead as we both sign up for online dating. Yikes! Then I am going to do as she has been, and blog about it. I will contribute to her blog, but there are some co-workers there who I'm not as close to. So I will also maintain my space here, to share with those that I trust.
If you are newly invited here, welcome. You can, if you must, go back and look at my half-dozen entries over the last nearly 8 years. Sad, so sad. And I'll try to keep you entertained. Because my anxiety level about dating is pretty high, so I expect to be sounding pretty neurotic on here. I reserve the full rights to all of this, so that maybe I can make it into a SNL skit or cable sitcom some day. That is my retirement plan. :)
See you soon.
